Sin - A Sting
"The Sting of death is Sin." 1Corinthians 15:56
Parallel
1.Death is like a venomous serpent, that hath a cruel and tormenting Sting, and this Sting is Sin.
2.The Sting of some serpents, in the flesh, is very painful, it makes such to cry out exceedingly: so such who feel themselves Stung with Sin, cry out, like as those did in Acts 2:36. The pain and torment of a wounded conscience is intolerable, as many can experience, and the history of Francis Spira abundantly shows.
3.The venom or sting of some serpents is mortal, it killeth the body: so Sin, that venom of death and the devil, killeth body soul and spirit.
4.If a serpent biteth or stingeth any one part, the venom and contagion spreadeth over all the body, and destroyeth the whole man: so the Sting and poison of Sin, which entered by one man’s offence, hath infected and killed all the lump of mankind, Romans 5:15, 18. Moreover, he that harboureth but one Sin in his bosom, it will destroy his whole soul if this Sting be but in his tongue, it is like the poison of asps, his life must go for it, without speedy help.
5.No salve or medicine could heal the bodies of those who are stunned with those fiery serpents in the wilderness, till they looked up to the brazen serpent, no physician on earth could cure them: so no work of man can cure the biting of death and the devil, or Sting of Sin, but the venom thereof rageth and reigneth, tormenting the conscience, until the soul looks up by a true and lively faith of Jesus Christ.
6.As the Sting of a serpent must be pulled out, before the person stung can be cured; so Sin must be lifted, pulled, or worked out of the heart and life of a Sinner, by the Spirit, before he can be either healed or saved.
7.As some serpents cannot hurt when they have lost their Sting, so death cannot hurt a soul, whose Sin is taken away by Jesus Christ.

HE IS MINE I AM HIS
Have You Ever Been Carried Away For Him? |
“She hath wrought a good work on Me.” |
If human love does not carry a man beyond himself, it is not love. If love is always discreet, always wise, always sensible and calculating, never carried beyond itself, it is not love at all. It may be affection, it may be warmth of feeling, but it has not the true nature of love in it.
Have I ever been carried away to do something for God not because it was my duty, nor because it was useful, nor because there was anything in it at all beyond the fact that I love Him? Have I ever realized that I can bring to God things which are of value to Him, or am I mooning round the magnitude of His Redemption whilst there are any number of things I might be doing? Not Divine, colossal things which could be recorded as marvellous, but ordinary, simple human things which will give evidence to God that I am abandoned to Him? Have I ever produced in the heart of the Lord Jesus what Mary of Bethany produced?
There are times when it seems as if God watches to see if we will give Him the abandoned tokens of how genuinely we do love Him. Abandon to God is of more value than personal holiness. Personal holiness focuses the eye on our own whiteness; we are greatly concerned about the way we walk and talk and look, fearful lest we offend Him. Perfect love casts out all that when once we are abandoned to God. We have to get rid of this notion - "Am I of any use?" and make up our minds that we are not, and we may be near the truth. It is never a question of being of use, but of being of value to God Himself. When we are abandoned to God, He works through us all the time.

The King James Bible is Inspired
The King James Bible is Inspired
By David J. Stewart
2nd Timothy 3:16, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.”
There are some wayward pastors and Christian leaders today who teach that the King James Bible is a divine preservation of the inspired originals, but not itself inspired. Nothing could be further from the truth. God's Word is inspired into whatever language it is translated. How could the Bible not be inspired?
I am sad for any congregation whose pastor misleads them concerning the Word of God. To claim that only the originals are inspired is heresy. To claim that the King James Bible is divinely preserved without being inspired is ridiculous and an utter heresy. How can God's Word be divinely preserved into any language without also being divinely inspired? It is impossible! Anyone who denies the inspiration of the King James Bible is a false prophet.
It is not only the originals which are inspired, but also the different languages into which God's Word is translated. Contrary to popular theological teaching, the originals are NOT even found in Hebrew, Greek and Chaldean. According to Psalm 119:89, the originals existed in Heaven before the first Word in Genesis was ever given to mankind. Psalm 119:89, “For ever, O LORD, Thy word is settled in heaven.” The originals are in Heaven.
Please don't be deceived, many false prophets are deceitful with their words. If your pastor says he believes that the Bible is inspired, ask him if he believes that the King James Bible is inspired? If your pastor says he believes that the King James Bible is a divinely preserved translation of the inspired Word of God, ask him again if he believes if the King James Bible is inspired? That is the big question... does your so-called Christian leader believe that the King James Bible is God's inspired Words? I say to you truthfully, the King James Bible is INSPIRED word-for-word.
Please do not misunderstand. I am not saying that God gave a new revelation to the King James translators. I don't know anyone who believes that. I am saying that the King James translators produced an inspired text, since the texts they translated from were inspired. God has divinely preserved His inspired Words in the inspired King James Bible. There is no greater battle today than over the inspiration of the Bible. Why would any pastor shake his congregation's faith in the Bible? If the originals only exist in some museum in Europe, then we're all in a heap of trouble.
Psalm 138:2 says that God has magnified His Word above His holy name. It is a critically important matter to God. Once a pastor attacks the inspiration of the King James Bible, then it's only downhill spiritually from there. To attack the inspiration of the Bible is to lay ax to the very root of the Christian faith, for the Word of God is the precious Seed by which men are born-again (1st Peter 1:23).
God hath chosen the poor, despised and lowly things of this world to confound the wise. It is rich and arrogant men who attack the Bible; It is broken, suffering and lowly men who defend it. If you don't have a King James Bible, then you have a deception.
Please don't be deceived, the King James Bible is God's preserved AND INSPIRED Words. If your pastor doesn't believe that the King James Bible is inerrant, preserved, infallible and inspired, then please find a Christ-honoring church.
The pastor of a very large church recently distributed a booklet to thousands of people, calling those who believe in the inspiration of the King James Bible “rats in the woodpile,” “hillbillies,” “ignorant clergy” and “barbarians.” The pastor said those who say the King James is inspired have “shot themselves in the foot,” and are “espousing Catholic or Charismatic theology.” I guess I'm a big rat then, because I DO believe that the King James Bible is 100% inspired, inerrant, infallible and preserved by God. I must be an ignorant barbaric hillbilly.
The truth is that such pastors have made Satan very glad, shaking people's faith in the Word of Life. My question is... with all the hordes of Hell attacking the Church today, why would any pastor attack the Word of God? It's apostasy! I mean, it's like a general on the battlefield criticizing the weaponry instead of attacking the enemy. We're at spiritual war! Stop tampering with the weapon! There's nothing wrong with our Sword. Hebrews 4:12, “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
Please don't be deceived, the King James Bible is God's preserved AND INSPIRED Words. The King James Bible is a divinely preserved translation of the inspired Words of God and is therefore also INSPIRED! I just don't understand how anyone could say that the King James Bible is not inspired, while believing that it was translated from inspired texts. It pains me greatly to hear a pastor denying the inspiration of the beloved King James Bible.
Job 32:8, “But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.”
“I must have every Word if I speak His message. If I didn't think I had a perfect Bible I'd close this one, walk out that door, I'd never walk in the pulpit again.” —Dr. Jack Hyles
